Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Storis mobile application (the "Application") provided by Franciszek Czajka, operating as Lapwing Software ("Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Application. These Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Definitions
- Application: the Storis mobile app and related features, content, backend services, and support tools.
- User ("you" or "your"): any person who downloads, accesses, purchases through, or uses the Application.
- Premium: paid access that unlocks premium features, including generated stories, and universe continuations, subject to availability and these Terms.
- Premium Purchase: an in-app purchase offered through Apple, Google, and/or RevenueCat. Depending on platform availability, this may include auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscriptions and/or a non-renewing lifetime purchase.
- User Content: information, prompts, story preferences, categories, names, universe details, feedback, or other content you submit, create, generate, or store through the Application.
- Generated Stories: story text and related metadata generated through the Application's AI story generation feature.
Eligibility and Family Use
Storis is designed for family reading and bedtime story experiences. Account creation, Premium Purchases, story generation, feedback, and other connected features should be used by an adult or with adult supervision. If you allow a child to use the Application, you are responsible for that use, including any content entered, generated, or accessed.
License and Intellectual Property
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, create derivative works from, bypass protections in, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise exploit the Application except where expressly permitted by applicable law.
The Application, brand, logo, interface, code, included offline stories, sound assets, artwork, databases, and other materials are owned by the Service Provider or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
User Content and Generated Stories
You are responsible for User Content you submit through the Application. You must have all rights and permissions needed to submit that content and to allow us and our service providers to process it for the purposes of operating the Application.
As between you and the Service Provider, you retain any rights you have in your User Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, display, and use your User Content as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Application.
Generated Stories are created using automated systems and may not be unique. Similar or identical content may be generated for other users. You may use Generated Stories created for your account for personal, non-commercial reading and family use, subject to these Terms and any applicable third-party terms.
Feedback, suggestions, and ideas you send to us may be used without compensation to you, provided we do not identify you publicly as the source without your permission.
AI Story Generation
Premium story generation uses Supabase Edge Functions and OpenAI services to create bedtime stories from the details you provide. Although Storis is designed to request gentle, age-appropriate bedtime stories, AI-generated content can be unexpected, incomplete, inaccurate, repetitive, or unsuitable.
You are responsible for reviewing Generated Stories before reading them to a child. Generated Stories are for entertainment and family reading only. They are not professional, medical, psychological, therapeutic, educational, legal, or safety advice.
Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential information, or content that you do not have permission to use in story prompts, character names, universe names, categories, or feedback messages.
Accounts and Security
Some features require a Storis account. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your credentials secure, maintaining control of your device, and all activity that occurs through your account.
You can sign in using email/password and selected identity providers, such as Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple where available. Authentication is handled through Supabase.
We strongly recommend against jailbreaking, rooting, or otherwise compromising your device. Doing so may reduce security, expose your data, or prevent the Application from functioning correctly.
Privacy
The Application stores and processes personal data to provide account, reading, story generation, feedback, purchase, synchronization, and support features. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Application for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes;
- submit content that infringes another person's rights or violates applicable law;
- submit sexual, exploitative, hateful, harassing, threatening, or violent content;
- submit malware, malicious code, or other harmful material;
- attempt to bypass Premium access controls, purchase validation, rate limits, authentication, or security protections;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, functions, or data related to the Application;
- interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, availability, or performance of the Application;
- use automated means to scrape, harvest, overload, or extract data except where expressly allowed by law;
- use the Application or Generated Stories to build, train, or improve a competing product or service;
- misrepresent your identity, impersonate another person, or create accounts for abusive purposes.
Feature Limits and Fair Use
We may apply limits to protect the Application, prevent abuse, and keep service quality reliable. Current code includes limits for story generation and feedback submissions. These limits may change over time.
Premium access does not guarantee unlimited story generation, continuous access to every feature, or permanent availability of generated content. We may block, throttle, suspend, or refuse requests that violate these Terms, exceed limits, create security risk, or appear abusive.
Read-Aloud and Microphone Feature
The read-aloud feature may request microphone permission so the Application can follow along while a story is read. The feature is optional and may not work perfectly on every device, accent, voice, environment, or operating system version.
The read-aloud feature is not a speech assessment, educational evaluation, medical tool, or safety-critical service.
Third-Party Services and Terms
The Application uses third-party services that are governed by their own terms and policies. Your use of those services may be subject to the applicable third-party terms.

Connectivity, Device, and Availability
The included offline stories and some local reading features may work without an internet connection. Account features, Premium status checks, purchases, purchase restore, story generation, generated story library access, synchronization, and feedback require an internet connection.
You are responsible for internet access, mobile data charges, roaming charges, device compatibility, storage, battery charge, operating system support, and any other requirements needed to use the Application.
We may modify, suspend, limit, replace, or discontinue any part of the Application at any time, including to improve functionality, maintain security, manage costs, comply with law, or respond to third-party service changes.
Premium Purchases, Subscriptions, and Lifetime Purchases
Premium Purchases require a signed-in Storis account so entitlement status can be connected to your account and restored across supported devices. Purchase availability, pricing, trial eligibility, billing period, taxes, payment methods, cancellation, renewal, and refunds are controlled by the relevant store platform and/or RevenueCat.
- Monthly and yearly plans, when offered, are auto-renewing subscriptions that renew unless canceled according to the applicable store rules.
- Lifetime purchases, when offered, are non-renewing purchases for Premium access for the lifetime of the Application/service as offered and supported, subject to these Terms, store rules, refunds, revocations, legal requirements, and continued service availability.
- Free trials, introductory offers, or promotional offers may be limited, may vary by user or platform, and may convert to paid access unless canceled before the trial or offer period ends.
- You can manage, cancel, or restore purchases using the store account, RevenueCat Customer Center where available, or in-app restore features.
- Deleting the Application or deleting your Storis account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through the store or subscription management flow.
- Refund requests must be submitted through the relevant store or payment provider and are subject to that provider's refund policy.
- If a payment fails, a subscription expires, a purchase is refunded or revoked, or entitlement validation fails, Premium access may be paused, limited, or removed.
- Premium features may change over time. We do not guarantee that any specific Premium feature will remain available indefinitely.
Account Deletion and Termination
You may request account deletion through the Application where available. Account deletion removes your Storis account and user-owned server records connected to that account, subject to retention described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Application or any account if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms, created risk or harm, misused the Application, infringed rights, attempted fraud, bypassed security, failed payment validation, or if we must do so to comply with law or third-party platform requirements.
No Warranty
The Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or that Generated Stories will always be appropriate, unique, accurate, or available.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Provider will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, device functionality, or service availability arising from or related to your use of the Application.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection laws.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms, except where additional notice or consent is required by law or platform rules.
